The following message has been issued by LHNCET the London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust.

Notting Hill Carnival is organised by Carnivalists who are volunteers of all the Carnival arts disciplines. Made up of Masquerade bands, Steelpan players, Calypsonians, Caribbean Music DJ’s and Sound systems. Carnivalists have produced presented Europe’s biggest and most successful street event for over 50 years.

The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC) have launched an attempt to take control of Notting Hill Carnival from London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust (LNHCET) the official Carnival organisers which includes representatives of all the Carnivalist disciplines. RBKC do NOT have the right to do this.

Help us challenge the efforts of RBKC who seek to impose yet another organisation with no experience of managing this unique event, its cultural specialisms or the route management expertise that has helped LNHCET to maintain a safe and enjoyable event for all.

*Please sign this petition*

This petition seeks to demonstrate that the undersigned recognise the threat that this action represents, and demands that RBKC discuss with LNHCET a cooperative course of action.
