About the Artist:
Nikisha Reyes is an amazing and talented singer. Too often, we are told that we are witnessing the arrival of new raw talent only to be disappointed with the lack of depth and quality that these supposed new talents display. Thankfully, this is not so with Nikisha Reyes. Be prepared to be suitably impressed.

Singing since the age of five years, Nikisha wrote her first song at the age of ten. A sure sign that at such an early age her love for music would ensure that she would endeavor to make her mark on the world in song. A global artist in every sense of the word, Nikisha was born and grew up in Trinidad. In later life this would account for her authentic Caribbean nuances that flavor some of her songs.

Nikisha’s voice is truly memorable. She joins a select group of vocalists who have the ability to engage and move the listener almost effortlessly when they sing. Whether it is encouraging the listener to get up and dance, or expressing the pain of a break up, Nikisha is able to adapt to each style effortlessly.

Her versatility is apparent. Nikisha begins her narration almost devoid of emotion, then before you know it, out of nowhere she hits you with that voice. She has you hooked. She floods you with so much emotion that you are compelled to empathize with her; to find similarities within your own life. However it takes place, you are left believing that these are her real experiences. They have to be, how else can someone so young write so intelligently and definitively on affairs of the heart. Nikisha has been gifted with her voice and her pen. While her songs are the soundtrack to the emotional journeys we face in our everyday, they translate well across all age ranges.

Her first  move was emerging on the Soca scene with her fast paced tongue-twisting song titled “roll my bumper,” on the “Licks Riddim” by Dutch productions. The rapid interest in her ability to sing Soca, lead to her collaboration with Socachild  on her hit single “one dance”. This immediately blew the UK Soca Market by storm. As a result, Nikisha was voted “Best UK Soca Artist 2010, at the Annual UK Calabash Awards.

Nikisha however, never puts all her eggs in one basket, and has continued to mature as an Artist, outside of the Carnival bracket.  Soca and Calypso music, is Nikisha’s  love and dedication to her roots and culture that has kept her on the Caribbean path annually at the London Nottinghill Carnival Festivities, and this genre of music, is a mere fraction/taster of Nikisha’s FULL potential.

One of Nikisha’s triumphs as an artist, was landing a collaboration with Ben Cocks of Atmosphere Music, whose work is now owned by Universal Publishing. The track “so cold” features more the haunted and soulful vocals. The song has premiered in TV Shows and movies worldwide, including “The Good Wives”, “Dollhouse” plus a variety of international adverts. She also was the only winning contender from the UK in the Annual Unsigned Only Competition, Judged by a variety of Celebrity Music Industry critics.

Nikisha continues to work and develop her unique sound to eventually present herself to the international market as a fusion of both sounds. Whilst honing and crafting her skills in preparation for the International Market, she continues to contribute to the Live and Thriving Caribbean Culture in the UK.
