About the Artist:

Deevine has been singing and performing since the age of 8. Her love for Soca saw her burst onto the UK Soca Scene in 2011, where she has been making waves on the Soca and Reggae scene ever since, after realizing that life was to short and it was time to follow her dream. After tragically losing her husband, it changed her family life, dramatically, and music was her only answer.  DeeVine knew she had to stop hiding in the background - it was time to stop being known as the shy girl and showcase her talent for singing, song writing and dance.

Born in London but raised in Barbados from the age of 6, Deevine has been singing and dancing from the age of 8 when her father bought her, her own Casio keyboard, she sang Soprano in the school choir at Parkinson Secondary School were she attended until the age of 17.  During her secondary school years she formed a dance group with a friend and 3 others, creating all the choreography, performing at school concerts and local shows, she was also a model for Sparkles Modeling group. At age 16 she became a member of a Soca band called ‘hide & seek’ for a short period of time before, returning to London where she continued her studies.  In 1997 she studied Music Technology and Business Management in Music, and also learned to play the piano.

In 2003 she taught music classes already in primary school. In later years she trained as a Registered Children's Nurse, during that time DeeVine entertained a love for sweet Soca, reggae and dance. Originally an RnB singer, she made her first attempt to write a Soca track producing single ‘tease dem’, getting great reviews.

Deevine’s interest for music came from the love of Soca and calypso she grew up listening to in Barbados, the lack of good Soca music in the UK made her appreciate it more and want to be a part of spreading it around Europe.  Her love & influence for Reggae came from her father who used to manage a Reggae band back in London and he constantly played Bob Marley and Gregory Isaacs in the house.  After then going on and recording ‘sweet love’ (reggae track), Deevine decided to dedicate her love and passion to writing and singing to music solely.

Deevine has so far performed in many Cities in England such as Reading, Birmingham, Manchester and Luton. Also she performed in Toronto, Tampa, Rotterdam, Barcelona, on Miami Carnival and in Barbados. There she even joined a Live-Television Show and of course she took part of Crop Over – also in many other carnivals across the nation.
Herself and Mighty Gabby have written a couple of her tracks 'leave me alone' and 'so sweet' received even airplays in Barbados in 2013.  She has worked with Anderson 'Blood' Armstrong, Dwain 'Dwaingerous' Antrobus and Jason 'Shaft' Bishop', she has performed on the same stage as Destra Garcia, Krosfhya, Biggie Irie and Lil Rick. Also she
collaborated with St. Vincent Soca artist Problem Child on a track called 'bash it on me'.

Deevine recently teamed up with Dancehall sensation Spice on a dancehall track called 'whine like weh' produced by Cashflow Records in Jamaica.  Her last collaboration was released in June 2015 with Dancehall Artist Gage on the track ‘missing you’ a song originally sang by Diana Ross. She has appeared on some of the biggest shows in Barbados, such as 'This Is Rick Concert' in 2013 which was an amazing opportunity for her. Deevine just performed again with RDX on their UK tour in London Every year she is travelling back to her home to Barbados to spread her music for the crop over season.
