Ti Orkest, which means little orchestra in the native tongue of Dominica, is a Caribbean Band for Soca and Cadence/Creole Music lovers. they also dabble in Reggae, Dance-hall, Jazz, Hip-hop, House, their local Bouyon music, and anything that gets our fans and supporters moving.
Here in the nature-Isle of the Caribbean, Dominica, Ti Orkest was established in December of 2010 following multiple dialogues among friends and co-workers, on starting a group that would impact people's lives. Since then, this common interest has been one of the major factors fueling their inspiration and dedication to the set cause. The members include Creig Henry (band manager and sound engineer), Dexter Ulysses (bass guitarist), Carlos Williams (male vocalist), Bernett Serrant, and Gerrant Guiste (Keyboardist), Vernandra Christian ( drummer), Stanton Guiste (guitarist), Shalina Samuel and Melinda Ulysses (female vocalists). In every performance, Ti Orkest aim to bring that "feel-good-vibe" and energy to their audience. Ti Orkest have performed in well-established events in Dominica such as the State President’s Cocktail, the annual Creole in The Park and “Jazz n Creole” fringe events (2013,2014,2016) and at the annual World Creole Music Festival. Additionally, Ti Orkest has been featured on the televised Tempo Network that serves the Caribbean region.
For moments of relaxation, dancing and dining, Ti Orkest has you covered. The band has provided live entertainment at popular bars, hotels and annual village festivals and continues to provide its services for the peoples enjoyment. We, Ti Orkest hold the title as the reigning NCCU Cadence-lypso Band Champions for 2015-2016. This show aims to promote our local Cadence music. Additionally, they also proudly host their very own annual "Wine & Wishes" party which is full of surprises for their patrons.
Fun and games aside, Ti Orkest has contributed through its services to benefit and relief/awareness concerts for Diabetes patients (2013) and for victims of natural disaster tropical Storm Erika which rampaged the island in August 2015.
Currently they are working on their up coming album titled "Come Over" which will comprise of songs in various Caribbean styles mainly Soca, Reggae, and Cadence music. This album will be geared at sharing our Caribbean tradition and culture with the world.
All in all, Ti Orkest work towards being an irreplaceable, refreshing and powerful icon at the forefront of the music industry, bringing people together, touching every corner of the globe and doing what they love.
