It was destined for London based Soca artist ‘LIGHTA’ to be a creative force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Born Dyllon Cassell on the tiny volcanic Caribbean Island of Montserrat to parents Ethlyn and Justin ‘HERO’ Cassell, former Calypsonian king of Montserrat and the Leeward Islands and brother to the late Alphonsus ‘ARROW’ Cassell SOCA KING OF THE WORLD. Justin ‘HERO’ Cassell played an integral role in carrier of his late brother ‘ARROW’ and wrote and arranged most of the famous songs enjoyed by Soca lovers worldwide such as ‘HOT HOT HOT’ and ‘TINEY WINEY’.

The old saying “Fruit don’t fall far from the tree” stands true when in 2012 ’LIGHTA’ released his debut single ‘George Bam’ featuring local disc jockey ‘DJ TYRONE’ .’LIGHTA’ entered into the local Soca Monarch and Road March competition In Montserrat winning both by a long shot.’George Bam’ went on to become a cult favourite in Montserrat and can be heard playing annually during the festival period .’LIGHTA’S’ sophomore release ‘RUM’ proved that his first release was no fluke and the chemistry between ‘LIGHTA’ and producer Darren ‘SOCA CHILD’ Skerritt was magical. ’RUM’ is available from any digital music store online and is distributed by VPALMUSIC {SOCA} and RASTA CAMP.

December 22nd 2012 the tandem released their third single called ‘RAISE’ which is available for download from ‘RIDDIM UP PRODUCTIONS’ a music label based in London run by producer Darren ‘SOCA CHILD’ Skerritt.

Soca artist ‘LIGHTA’ has performed live at the ‘SCALA’ in London at a SOCA FRENZY event and his new single ‘RAISE’ is making waves in the Soca community. ’LIGHTA’S’ carrier is off to a flying start and we expect nothing but greatness as he continues to provide Soca fans with upbeat Soca with a party theme like his late great uncle ‘ARROW’.
