Love him or hate him, Soca’s reigning Groovy Soca Monarch champ, Swappi has a place in any carnival atmosphere. The singer, prior to carnival 2019, had endured a rough patch, telling Ebuzztt following his Monarch win, that there’d been many times he’d almost given up. Fast forward to October 2019, and Swappi is enjoying life and success.

Miami Carnival was all the rave this past weekend. The Soca artistes all represented well. Whether they hit the big stage at Fairgrounds or performed at private events like Soca Brainwash, Lyrikal and Friends, Rise and Shine or Soca Kingdom, their presence in Miami was definitely certain and spreading the sweetness of soca was the mission.

Ebuzztt caught Swappi in action on Sunday night at the Miami Carnival concert hosted by the Miami Broward Carnival Committee. He was eagerly introduced by Wassi and the A Team Band and almost like he’d been performing for the very first time, hungry to feed a ravenous crowd, Swappi lit up the venue. He’s been enjoying a phenomenal post C2K19 season, hitting the international Soca circuit hard. For artistes like him, the Miami Carnival stage is the last major stage where their talent can be showcased before all eyes and ears become peeled to Trinidad and Tobago.

The Soca stars from across the Caribbean showed up and showed out at this year’s Miami Carnival. Nadia Batson told Ebuzztt that Miami Carnival is always an enjoyable one for her, and encouraged her fans from around the world to be a part of the fun, next year.
