Trinidad Killa Preaches Love, Unity On Breakfast Boatride.
His popular refrain, “Gunman in she hole”, while proving to be one of the big tunes of the year, is, without a doubt, untenable in the eyes of right minded citizens. Many claim the song is real- a true representation of a segment of Trinidad and Tobago’s society, relatable by many who experience the gangster lifestyle, regularly. But what about those who do not?
On Friday morning, aboard a breakfast cruise dubbed, Runaway, Trinidad Killa had the opportunity to share more of himself and while the popular refrain, “Gunman in she hole” was promoted and even called for, for the most part, the artist stood his ground and introduced soca lovers to something different.
“Dyy Zess” on the Sugar Apple riddim, is the artist’s latest contribution. He said Zess now equates to love and unity, encouraging an open minded approach by all sectors of society, to a word that for many, holds a stigma of gun violence and gangsterism. On Friday, Trinidad Killa, an artist who’s been knocking on doors for 17 years with music, said The Zess culture would now be transformed to something good.
Lapped up with ease, the artist’s new track made the crowd move and with its own dance, Trinidad Killa proved to be a hit aboard the Harbour Master. Word is, he’s already been booked to perform at a number of Carnival 2020 fetes!
