The 2020 Hackney Carnival will not be held this year as organisers focus their resources on dealing with the Covid-19 health crisis.

The carnival, which drew crowds of 80,000 last year, had been scheduled for Sunday 8 September.

This year’s carnival will be replaced by a digital cultural programme led by the grassroots carnival groups that regularly take part in Hackney Carnival. The groups will still receive planned funding.
